The Yellow Lunch Card And The Highlighted Letter That Revealed Why My Children Vanished

The highlighted sentence read: A petition for guardianship and conservatorship of Adrienne Reyes has been drafted, pending medical documentation of diminished capacity following her cardiac procedure. My hands shook so hard the paper rattled against the blanket. My children had not left because of parking. Then Marcus pulled a second document from the folder, and his voice dropped lower still. “But they made one mistake, Adrienne. They assumed you’d wake up with no one in your corner. They were wrong.”
