Bianca’s confident smile instantly collapses, and she invokes her husband Nathaniel’s name as though it settles the matter permanently. But heading toward the garage to assess the damage, the grandmother discovers a row of carefully sealed boxes that suggest this “redecoration” was planned long before she ever left for her trip, and opening the first one reveals something that makes her stomach drop all over again.
