Mom Canceled Sunday Dinner With One Strange Text

Alice panicked when her mother suddenly canceled the family’s weekly Sunday dinner with a cold message that simply read, “Please don’t come today.”

For three years after their father’s death, those Sunday dinners had become the tradition that kept the entire family together.

Neither Alice nor her brother Brian had ever known their mother to cancel, especially without an explanation.

When repeated calls went unanswered, both siblings rushed to the house fearing something terrible had happened.

The moment Alice unlocked the front door with her emergency key, she froze in shock.

A gray-haired man wearing one of her late father’s old shirts was calmly sitting at the family kitchen table.

Her mother stood silently at the counter preparing vegetables without even looking up.

When Brian arrived moments later, he demanded to know who the stranger was.

The man slowly turned around, and both siblings stared in horror because he looked almost exactly like their late father.

Through tears, their mother finally revealed the impossible truth.

The man was James—her late husband’s identical twin brother whom neither of them had ever known existed.

As Alice struggled to understand how her father could have hidden an identical twin for decades, her mother quietly admitted that the family secret was even darker than they could imagine.
