David asked if I had skipped the Saturday meal and I simply nodded without emotion.
Victoria tried to laugh it off, saying everyone had already been hungry and it was no big deal.

I placed a folder on the coffee table and asked them to look through it carefully.
Inside were three years of receipts, bank statements, and detailed household expenses.
The room slowly went silent as they realized what they were reading.
I explained I had spent nearly nine thousand dollars just on Saturday meals alone.

David’s expression changed when he reached the full summary of the finances.
He had claimed to support the household, but I was paying most of everything.

Mortgage, groceries, bills, repairs, and taxes all came from my accounts.
