My Husband Threw Me Out After Our Daughter Was Born And Then Begged On My Porch2

I did not forgive him that day. I told Marcus he had lied for years, and then abandoned me when I needed him most. He sobbed that he had been terrified of losing me, and panic had made him cruel. Helen admitted she had known about the donation and pushed him to hide it.

My mother, a nurse, asked the questions I could not. A sibling match test would need only a simple cheek swab, nothing harmful to a baby, and the doctors would never take anything from Harper unless it was completely safe. I agreed to the swab, but only with my own pediatrician present, and only after Marcus signed a written apology and agreed to leave the house for good.

The swab showed Harper was a partial match, but the doctors found a better donor through a registry. Grace had her treatment that winter and recovered. I met her mother, a quiet woman who thanked me with tears. Marcus’s divorce finished in the spring, and he paid full support.

Harper is two now, with the same dark curls as her half sister. Grace sends her a drawing every month. Helen wrote me a letter of apology, and I kept it unopened for a year before reading it. I never asked God why it happened. I only know my daughter was loved by me first.
